The plate heat exchanger consists of two parts: the external frame and the heat exchanger plate, of which the core component is the heat exchanger plate, which is usually pressed from a thin metal sheet with a regular corrugated shape. Through the process of stacking, rubber gasket pressing, bolt fixing, etc., a number of heat exchanger plates are arranged alternately at certain intervals, and then sealed with rubber around, all of which constitute a complete set of plate heat exchanger.
During operation, thin rectangular fluid channels are formed between each heat exchanger plate, and the two heat transfer media, hot and cold, enter these narrow, tortuous flow channels through the holes in the corners of the plates, and the corrugations on the plates enhance the stiffness of the plates, as well as the turbulence of the fluid. The two media form a parallel or counter-flow between the plate barriers and pass through the intervening layers of plates for heat transfer.
High heat exchange
The heat exchange coefficient K value is in the range of 3000~8000w/m.°C, which is higher than other types of heat exchangers.
Compact structure
The plate heat exchanger has a high heat transfer coefficient and is characterized by a compact structure and small size. 250 square meters of heat transfer area can be arranged in each cubic meter of volume.
Flexible assembly
The heat transfer area can be changed by increasing or decreasing the number of plates to accommodate changes in heat load. For pure fluids in the same heat exchanger, it is also possible to increase the flow rate between the plates by increasing the number of processes in order to achieve a high heat transfer coefficient.
